-Flooring is needed in all rooms of our Parish Center.

-New fire boxes in the furnaces in the parish center.

-We could use (10 - 12)  24 gal. Rough Tote Rubbermaid storage bins with covers.

-Coffee, tea, (regular and decaf), soda, bottled water, milk, cake, cups, napkins, plates, utensils, and condiments for our fundraising events.

-$20.00 gift cards, such as Visa, American Express, or store, or restaurant gift cards for raffles at our fundraising events.

Volunteer

No experience is necessary, we give on the job training, and any amount of time you can give is greatly appreciated. Check the web site, calendar, or call the church office for volunteer opportunities. Just showing up to an event and offering to help is fine too.

-Do you know how to fix computers?  We have some computers that need to be upgraded and put together for our office.  Call us if you can help!

-Volunteers are always needed before, during, and after our fundraising events.

-Volunteers are also needed for Sunday service.  We need ushers, alter guild members, lectors, communion assistants, acolytes, greeters, and sponsors for the monthly coffee hours as well.

-Writers, editors, and proof readers for our monthly newsletter. 

-The fourth Monday – Thursday of the month from 12PM – 4PM, is usually dedicated to producing, collating, preparing, and sorting the newsletter.  Call the church office for specific dates and times.

-Every Thursday from 12-2pm is usually dedicated to producing, collating, and preparing the bulletin.  Call the church office for specific dates and times.

Share your ideas

Would you like to start a crocheting/knitting club, or maybe organize a community dance offering lessons for Salsa, and/or ballroom dancing?  Call us if you are interested, or if you have any other ideas for clubs, or activities that you'd like to help us organize. (718) 843-1247

• Attend our Worship Services on a Regular Basis. Share your strength with us, and realize the great gifts that can be received, through the regular fellowship and communing with others of faith. Join us in celebrating the amazing grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

• Contribute “Give generously and from the heart, and it shall be returned to you tenfold.” Giving generously and regularly helps to keep the mission of CLC going. Weekly, or monthly donations; contributions to our special appeals; and participation in our fundraisers, all help to keep our mission going, especially during these hard economic times. BUILDING MAINTENANCE, UPKEEP, AND REPAIRS: our buildings are old, there is just no getting around that, there is always something that needs to be done to keep them going, and time waits for no one. However, our buildings are vital to continuing the 128-year mission of CLC in the community of Christ, and we need to do everything we can to keep them in good working order. We have a list of necessary repairs, and maintenance items for our buildings, along with estimates for most of these projects. We have also put the repairs in order of importance and area. This is a general guideline as circumstances can change, and move an item or two up or down on the list. The estimates for most of the items currently on the list totals approximately $200,000.00. Below is a list of the current top priorities, and their estimates. This years near record setting rainfall, has caused some damage to our buildings that need to be repaired as quickly as possible. As we all know, once water gets in, it just keeps on coming, making itself right at home, and taking up more and more space, and the damage spreads quickly. Current estimates received for some of the needed repair work is $10 – 12,000. Certain repairs must be done first, and the work cannot begin until all of the funds are raised, and with more rain on the way this summer, the longer we wait the more damage there will be, and the more expensive it will become to do the repairs. Some of the work cannot be done in the cold weather, so our time frame to have the repairs completed is also limited, and shrinking quickly. Please mark your donation as “Building Repair” and give generously. We also have approximately $9,000.00 in loans that need to be paid back. Please mark your donation as “loan repayment,” and give generously Over the last 2 years, a few hearty volunteers have given up more than a few Saturday's with their families to clean up, and clean out the Parish Center, our last big push to complete this project was on Saturday 8/15/09, and we are still in need of donations to off set the cost of the junk removal; please consider making a monetary donation to the “Clean Up/Clean Out Fund.” Debris has already been removed from the yard of the parsonage at a cost of $1,300.00 and $1,800.00 for the removal of the junk in the Parish Center.
